The Job Profile A unique opportunity has arisen for a Publicity Manager to lead our Melbourne publicity team. Reporting to the Publicity Director, the successful candidate will coordinate successful publicity campaigns for a range of adult books for Simon & Schuster and Affirm Press. The Job Role The role involves leading the Melbourne Publicity team and executing imaginative, effective, and impactful publicity campaigns. The candidate will work closely with the publishing, marketing, and sales teams to deliver fully integrated promotional plans. The Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading and delivering inventive and strategic publicity campaigns across traditional and digital media. Experience in organizing events and book tours, big and small, is essential. The candidate should have an established network of media and event contacts and be able to start effectively in a vibrant department. While this role involves working on a variety of titles, we are especially interested in applicants with experience or passion for non-fiction and literary titles, primarily adult books for Simon & Schuster and Affirm Press. Leadership skills, including effective mentorship, multi-tasking, and innovative thinking, are crucial. The candidate must possess excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously, from debut titles to works by established and celebrity authors.
