The opportunity Due to continued growth, exciting opportunities exist for experienced lawyers to join the Melbourne team in Senior Associate and Special Counsel roles, working primarily on medical indemnity and health law matters. These positions will see you advising insurers and defending health practitioners and entities in high stakes litigation. You’ll work closely with a highly regarded team on matters including: Managing complex medical negligence claims, from investigation through to resolution Representing clients in coronial inquests and disciplinary proceedings Advising on professional indemnity and medical indemnity coverage issues Preparing detailed reports, legal advice, and strategic recommendations Drafting legal documents, including court pleadings, settlement deeds, and referral materials Briefing counsel and coordinating expert witnesses Mentoring and developing junior lawyers Participating in business development initiatives and client relationship management Exceptional Legal Professional Required You will have: A minimum of PQE6 in health law or insurance litigation Current legal practising certificate in an Australian jurisdiction Strong advocacy and negotiation skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated ability to manage complex litigation and work autonomously A collaborative mindset and interest in mentoring others A high level of professionalism, integrity and commercial awareness Why Join This Firm?
