We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Leading Hand to join our team at our Welshpool workshop. This role is available on a full-time or casual basis, working Monday to Friday, day shift only, and involves both hands-on work and team leadership. About the Opportunity As a Mechanical Leading Hand, you’ll be a key contributor on the workshop floor while also providing guidance and coordination to a team of tradespeople. You'll ensure jobs are delivered safely, on time, and to quality standards, while actively supporting team development and collaboration. Key Responsibilities • Lead by example with hands-on mechanical/fabrication work • Allocate daily tasks and support job planning and scheduling • Mentor and support team members to meet project objectives • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and quality standards • Communicate clearly with Supervisors and Project Managers on progress and priorities Qualifications, Skills & Experience • Australian-recognised trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting, Boilermaking, or related field • Proven experience in a workshop or mechanical maintenance environment • Previous leadership experience in a similar role highly regarded • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings • Strong organisational and communication skills • Valid Australian driver’s licence • Forklift or Dogging High Risk Licence – desirable What We Offer • Stable, long-term employment with a respected WA-owned company • Opportunities to progress into Supervisor or Project-based roles • Strong team culture in a modern and well-resourced workshop • Immediate start available • Supportive leadership and training opportunities As part of the recruitment process, you may be required to complete pre-employment screening, including but not limited to a medical and working rights check.
