Description The opportunity: We are looking for a sterilisation technician to join our supportive and professional multidisciplinary teams in a full time capacity. Responsibilities include but are not limited to; Clean, decontaminate, inspect, and sterilise instruments in line with current guidelines and procedures. Operate and monitor sterilisation equipment including autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, and chemical disinfectants. Package, label, and store instruments to ensure safe transport and use across clinical areas. Conduct visual inspections of instruments to identify damage or malfunction and escalate concerns to appropriate personnel. Maintain accurate records of all sterilisation processes, equipment maintenance, and load validations. Ensure compliance with AS/NZS 4187 and relevant NSQHS Standards, particularly Standard 3 – Preventing and Controlling Infections. Monitor and maintain stock levels of sterilisation consumables and notify when supplies need replenishing. Dispose of contaminated or biohazardous materials according to established protocols. Skills And Experiences Our ideal candidate: Certificate IV in Sterilisation Services (HLT47015 or equivalent) Demonstrated experience in a sterilisation or central sterile services role within a healthcare setting. Comprehensive knowledge of infection prevention standards and sterilisation procedures. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage time effectively. Familiarity with the operation, cleaning, and maintenance of sterilisation equipment. High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant environment.
