The Role We are currently seeking a Senior Structural Bridge Engineer to join our Rail team in North Sydney. Working with a specialist team of Engineers, Drafters and Project Managers, you will be responsible for technical design input, co-ordination and project delivery activities across rail infrastructure projects locally and nationally. Key Responsibilities Coordinating the structural design and documentation for various projects locally and nationally Undertaking structural design components using relative software, including MIDAS, Space Gass, Autodesk, and Microstran to name a few Reviewing structural designs, ensuring that analysis and design tasks undertaken meet appropriate technical standards and the requirements of the client and SMEC Production of engineering reports and supporting tender proposals Proactively collaborating with team members, contributors and stakeholders to maintain quality, timeliness and co-ordination of project deliverables Actively contribute to the technical success of projects and the team About You Relevant Engineering qualifications – with a focus in Structural Engineering Minimum 7 years’ bridge design experience for rail infrastructure projects Demonstrated design experience using relevant Structural software Possesses project management and hands-on experience, encompassing administrative, commercial and technical aspects CPEng or actively working towards Chartership Strong understanding of Australian codes and standards Submit technical reports of a standard requiring minimal correction; and provide final review of reports Able to work on own initiative and in a team environment Australian working rights In return, SMEC offers you the benefits that come from working in a global multidisciplinary consultancy in an environment where your fresh ideas and enthusiasm will be welcomed and rewarded.
