Our client is seeking a Junior Payroll Officer to join a supportive and collaborative team in a vital role ensuring our people are paid accurately and on time. We’re seeking a motivated Junior Payroll Officer to join our team on a 12-month maternity leave backfill contract. You’ll play an important part in the end-to-end payroll process for approximately 300 employees , ensuring payroll runs smoothly every fortnight. Location: Sydney or Brisbane Job Type: Full-time M-F Contract Length: 12-month maternity leave cover Daily Pay rate: $385-$405/day super Start Date: ASAP Work Arrangement: Monday & Tuesday: Work from home Sydney-based candidates: Anchor day in the office on Wednesday or Thursday Brisbane-based candidates: Office attendance on Wednesday or Thursday What you’ll do: Process and run payroll (Tuesday pay run – fortnightly cycle) Answer payroll-related emails and case queries Perform reconciliations and ensure timely, accurate payments Maintain employee records including secondments, promotions, and roster changes Process updates in line with 4 Enterprise Agreements Interpret EA conditions and respond to payroll queries confidently Support continuous improvements in payroll operations What you bring: 2 years of end-to-end payroll experience Hands-on experience with SAP Payroll Confident with reconciliations and exception reporting Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills Ability to work independently , meet deadlines, and solve problems Understanding of Enterprise Agreements Bonus points if you have: Kronos experience (or familiarity – being implemented later this year) Experience with SuccessFactors or Salesforce Sounds like you?
