The Opportunity As a full-time, permanent Assistant Financial Accountant , you’ll support our progressive and authentic firm as we champion what’s right. Reporting to the Finance Manager, and based from our Brisbane CBD head office, you’ll be a key contributor to monthly and annual financial reporting, by preparing end-of-month entries, daily accounting tasks, and key account reconciliations for Shine Lawyers and its brands. This is an ideal role for an enthusiastic, proactive individual who is currently studying or hoping to study their CA or CPA, as we have many experienced qualified accountants in this business who would love to help you learn and grow. Here’s how you’ll help us stay ahead of the pack: Performing daily bank reconciliations of Shine Australian, New Zealand and US entities. Supporting monthly and annual financial reporting and assist with external audits. Preparing and lodging BAS, GST, and FBT returns, including liaising with tax authorities, external auditors, and advisors. Managing month end tasks, including but not limited to cash flow, and integration for NZ and US entities. Driving accounting process improvements and maintain updated documentation. Handling banking administration, maintaining signatory records, and supporting finance queries. Identifying and implementing process improvements across all accounting function, including updating process notes as required. What you’ll bring To thrive in this role, you will: Have completed your business degree (or equivalent) Have commenced or prepared to commence CA/CPA qualification desirable Demonstrated experience in a similar role (e.g. finance assistant, accounting officer, etc.) Strong stakeholder management skills Exposure to working within an ASX-listed environment or a large multinational subsidiary is highly advantageous but not essential for success Exposure to working in a professional services firm desirable Experience working with foreign exchange is advantageous but not essential for success Auditing experience is advantageous but not essential for success Strong MS Excel skills Deadline driven with a strong attention to detail Ability to work autonomously, and strong willingness to learn Shine Lawyers: A place for you.
