About the Role Blending strategy and operational delivery, the Engineering Manager reports into the Regional Operations Manager and manages the delivery of maintenance and asset services across three assets located in the Western suburbs of Melbourne. You'll drive a shift from reactive to preventative maintenance by effective procurement and management of specialist contractors, educating and mentoring the in-house team of trades and ensuring the asset management register is updated and reviewed. The ability to optimise asset performance and lifecycle planning, you'll embed structure, accountability, and long-term thinking, playing a key role in cultural and operational transformation across a critical environment. Key Responsibilities Make a real difference to innovate and lead change across a critical infrastructure portfolio, requiring a high level of responsiveness Strategically allocate work to an upskilled in-house trade team, and balance the reliance on contractors Prioritise competing demands while maintaining strong oversight across all locations Play a key role in developing strategies and leading the transition of maintenance delivery from reactive to preventative. Use asset lifecycle data to guide capital works, improving asset reliability, and reducing long-term costs Partner with procurement to implement effective preventative maintenance contracts Be visible as a key leader of site engineering services, elevate customer satisfaction, and influence and engage with internal and external stakeholders. Work alongside the Regional Operations Manager to drive a proactive, data-driven asset management delivery model. About You We require an assertive, organised, result-driven engineering professional with the confidence to lead teams, solve problems, and build long-term quality relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Your key skills will include: Trade or engineering qualified in Mechanical, Electrical, or Hydraulic Services with demonstrated leadership in facilities management. Experienced in managing multiple stakeholders, with the ability to influence at all levels and elevate customer experience. Proficient in asset management, capital works planning, and strategic resource allocation Background in large, complex facilities—particularly within government, data centres, healthcare, corrections, or similar sectors—is highly advantageous Ready to take ownership and drive meaningful, long-term change across critical infrastructure Hold (or able to obtain) a valid Police Check and Working with Children Check, plus a current driver's licence.
