In addition to their industry-leading feedlots, their diverse range of operations include cottonseed oil extraction, stockfeeds, supply chain, beef export, and a newly developed fertiliser facility. To support the ongoing improvements within the organisation, a skilled Mechanical Engineering Technician is required at their flagship Grassdale Feedlot 35-minutes South of Dalby, QLD. The Role As a Mechanical Engineering Technician, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring that all plant and equipment are maintained in excellent working order, minimizing downtime and ensuring compliance with industry standards. You’ll be instrumental in supporting the organization’s commitment to operational excellence and safety. Reporting to the Manager, your duties will include (but not be limited to): Performing evaluations on plant and equipment and completing necessary maintenance to return them to a serviceable state. Attending breakdown maintenance when required Ensuring all maintenance work is accurately recorded using the site’s maintenance management software (MEX). Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and capital work projects. Assisting in the installation and commissioning of new equipment within the Feedlot. Hourly Rates are $37.38 - $40.43/hr, working Monday to Friday day shifts. Ordinary hours are 80 hours per fortnight, and overtime is applied at 150% for hours worked beyond 10 hours per day, or beyond 80 per fortnight. About You This role is ideally suited to someone who enjoys a diverse range of tasks across multiple production departments. With previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment, strong fabrication skills, and a collaborative work ethic, it’s important you can address the following criteria: Relevant trade certificate in Mechanical Engineering or similar, with experience in hydraulics and pneumatics Strong understanding of WH&S standards within a manufacturing environment.
