Jumbuck are a fourth generation Australian business operating large scale cattle and sheep properties across Australia. Jumbuck’s Mulgathing Station in SA runs around 30,000 Merino sheep at peak over an area of 530,700ha with a full-time permanent staff of 7. The property sits about 100km west of the Stuart Highway, with the turnoff mid-way between Glendambo and Coober Pedy. We are looking to appoint a permanent, full-time experienced station hand to the team. Ideally, someone able to take a lead with the crew on the day-to-day station works, able to support the junior staff as they develop and support management in achieving the operational requirements of the station. Experience riding 2-wheel motorbikes is expected, along with sound mechanical and overall pastoral station experience. Some of what you will be involved in: Stockwork including mustering of sheep on motorbikes, yard work and processing Management of waters including maintenance, repair and servicing of water pumping equipment including solar and windmills, pipelines, tanks, troughs and gensets Various mechanical work including engine and small motor maintenance and servicing, fencing and general station infrastructure upkeep Supporting development of junior staff A highly competitive pay package is available; including an excellent day rate in line with experience, accommodations and food/meals provided, 6 weeks annual leave and inclusion in the Jumbuck bonus structure from day one.
