The Role The role for hire is a Child Care Worker, it is a full-time role with an annual salary between $77,000 and $85,000 plus superannuation and will be based in Rothwell, QLD. The Responsibilities Designed and led play-based learning programs that supported children's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development Read stories, sang songs, organised games, and took children on local excursions to encourage creativity and connection with their environment Created a safe, clean, and welcoming space where children could learn and grow, ensuring all health and safety standards were met Observed each child's behaviour and progress, and shared updates regularly with families and other staff to support development Paid close attention to children's needs, looking for signs of any learning or behavioural challenges, and kept supervisors informed Helped children build daily life skills, including how to feed themselves, get dressed, and use the bathroom with confidence Worked closely with fellow educators and support staff to provide consistent care and maintain routines across the centre Occasionally planned fun and engaging activities for older children attending before- and after-school care Took the lead in organising the daily schedule for my room, and guided other educators and assistants to ensure smooth operations Supported meal times, cleaned and set up learning areas, and helped keep the centre tidy and running smoothly The Requirements To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following requirements: A Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education is preferred. However, candidates holding a Diploma or Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care with at least three years of relevant experience will also be considered A current Working with Children Check (WWCC) is mandatory A valid National Police Check must be obtained prior to employment Up-to-date First Aid certification, including CPR, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis training, in line with the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 At least 2 years of professional experience in early childhood teaching in Australia A minimum of 2 years' professional experience working with children aged 0-6 years, including supporting children with additional needs A minimum of 2 years' experience in planning and running high-quality educational programs based on the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) or other recognised curriculum In-depth understanding of the National Quality Framework (NQF) and the Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011 Ability to tailor programs to meet the diverse needs of children, families, and the wider community, while maintaining inclusive and culturally respectful practices Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build meaningful relationships with children, families, and colleagues A collaborative mindset and ability to work as part of a team, showing awareness and respect for the strengths and differences of fellow educators
