We are currently seeking a qualified and professional full-time Chef to join our talented kitchen team. Location: Lane Cove, NSW Salary Range: $70,000-$90,000 (Competitive, commensurate with experience) Duties will include but not limited to: Plan, prepare, and execute high-quality Indian dishes that meet Masala Kitchen’s standards. Collaborate with the Head Chef to design menus that incorporate seasonal ingredients and align with customer preferences. Develop creative recipes in conjunction with Head Chef and refine existing ones to maintain quality, authenticity, and consistency. Ensure dishes meet high standards in taste, presentation, and nutritional balance. Supervise and train kitchen staff, promoting a positive and professional work environment. Manage kitchen operations, including stock control, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste. Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards. Evaluate food and labour costs, implementing measures to optimize efficiency without compromising quality. Stay updated on culinary trends and integrate new techniques into the menu. Address customer feedback constructively to enhance the dining experience. Research and incorporate new culinary trends and techniques into menu items Foster a positive and inclusive kitchen environment that encourages teamwork, creativity and communication Take pride in delivering a world-class dining experience by incorporating guest feedback and personalizing menus. Qualifications, Skills and Experience: To succeed in this role, you will need: Minimum qualification of Certificate IV in commercial cookery or diploma in hospitality. In absence of formal qualifications, significant commercial experience working in the given role may substitute Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in a fast-paced restaurant/ in a commercial kitchen within the Australian hospitality industry.
