We are currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to help keep production humming with sharp troubleshooting skills and a commitment to safety and quality. The Role This is a permanent full-time role based in Sydney South West, reporting to the Production Manager and working closely with the Maintenance and Production Teams. As a Mechanical Fitter, you'll perform both preventative and reactive maintenance on a wide variety of production machinery, including hydraulics and pneumatics. You'll help minimise downtime through quick diagnostics and effective repairs, support equipment upgrades and modifications, and work collaboratively to drive continuous improvement across the facility. Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on equipment and mechanical systems Diagnose and resolve mechanical breakdowns to minimise production downtime Assist in planning and implementing mechanical maintenance activities Support equipment upgrades, modifications, and installations Participate in continuous improvement projects to boost plant performance Ensure adherence to all safety procedures and reporting requirements Maintain housekeeping standards, keeping work areas clean and organised Handle raw materials efficiently to support uninterrupted production Requirements Mechanical Trade Qualification / Qualified Fitter Proven experience in maintenance within a manufacturing environment (preferred) Strong mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting skills Ability to read technical drawings and schematics Welding and fabrication skills Commitment to safety, quality systems (ISO9001 & ISO14001), and continuous improvement Ability to manage conflicting priorities and complete tasks hands-on Forklift or EWP licence (desirable) Knowledge of industrial machinery and mechanical systems (desirable) If you're ready to take the next step in your career, apply now or contact ilan@rec-partners.com.au for more details.
