THE COMPANY Our client operates a successful and growing free-range egg farm based on strong principles of sustainability and animal welfare. THE ROLE An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Poultry Farm Manager to support the current manager and act on his behalf in his absence. This position would also suit a husband and wife team who are both interested to work on the farm. RESPONSIBILITIES Work closely with the farm manager to ensure bird health and welfare and to achieve optimum production; Deputise for the farm manager in his absence; Hands-on supervision of farm staff; Monitor and manage maintenance of farm plant and equipment; Ensure quarantine conditions are rigidly adhered to; Ensure a safe work environment. REQUIREMENTS Some experience in poultry livestock management preferably but not necessarily in egg layers; Ability to work in a team environment; A hands-on management style and mechanical aptitude. LOCATION Yarra Valley region approximately one hour from Melbourne CBD, VIC. REMUNERATION A competitive salary package, including free on-site accommodation will be offered commensurate with experience.
