Your New Role: Industrial Painter who will earn a salary of $42 per hour, based on their level of experience. As part of their team you will be required to work in our workshop as well as onsite when required with a standard 40-hour workweek. The higher rate for project work may be awarded to highly skilled candidates who can get it right the first time, without supervision. Everyone is able to do regular overtime. Responsible for: Applying protective coatings and paint finishes to various industrial components using spray painting techniques. Additionally, you will be proficient in sandblasting operations to prepare surfaces for painting. As well as this, you will be responsible to: - Prepare surfaces for painting by sandblasting operations, including cleaning, smoothing, and removing old coatings or impurities using sandblasting equipment. Mix and prepare paint materials, ensuring accurate colour matching and consistency. Utilise spray painting equipment, including guns, nozzles, and compressors, to apply coatings evenly and efficiently onto surfaces. Monitor and adjust spray patterns, pressure, and temperature to achieve the desired finish and coverage. Follow safety protocols and guidelines when handling and storing hazardous materials, such as paints, solvents, and cleaning agents. Perform routine maintenance on spray painting equipment, ensuring proper functioning and optimal performance. Inspect painted components for quality assurance, identifying defects or imperfections and making necessary touch-ups or rework. Adhere to project deadlines, maintaining productivity and efficiency while producing high-quality work. Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring the proper storage and disposal of painting supplies and equipment. Your Profile: The ideal candidate will be able to meet the following criteria: Minimum three years experience in industrial spray painting Proven experience using 2-pack paint Experience working in a fabrication environment with a range of metals Ability to work independently and in a team Professional personal appearance Current C Class Driver’s License (Manual) Ability to follow all Occupational Health and Safety Regulations Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing.
