We are looking for a Workplace Health & Safety Coordinator to support our Qld Glass Products team (around 165 people), located at Eagle Farm and Narangba . The Role You will work closely with the General Manager, managers, supervisors, leading hands, manufacturing workers, and tradespeople to ensure our systems and practices maintain high safety standards and prevent workplace injuries and illnesses. To be successful, you'll need to build strong, collaborative relationships with our team while taking a hands-on approach to embedding a positive health and safety culture across the workforce. You will: Key Responsibilities: Monitor, coordinate, and maintain accurate records for incident investigations, safety inductions, SOP training and assessments, licences and tickets, hazard and risk assessments, toolbox talks, safety inspections, and annual safety audits Coordinate safety committees and communicate updates and progress on safety initiatives Manage hazardous materials and chemicals, including Safety Data Sheets (SDS), fire safety, emergency management, and traffic management practices; conduct emergency drills as required Promote safety through effective communication and consultation across the organisation Maintain comprehensive safety records, reports, and regular reviews Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, standards, and company policies Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate control measures Manage safety documentation, including risk assessments, TWI’s, and incident reports Deliver staff inductions and coordinate ongoing safety training Lead incident investigations and oversee the implementation of corrective actions Foster a proactive safety culture through engagement, communication, and visibility Conduct regular site audits, inspections, and facilitate toolbox talks Monitor WHS performance metrics and support continuous improvement initiatives Liaise with injury management consultants and external contractors as required The Person Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of the organisation Previous experience in a WHS role within a manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environment Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or equivalent qualification) Sound knowledge of, and ability to apply, WHS legislation, standards, guidelines, and risk management principles Highly organised, results-driven, and attentive to detail Strong administrative and computer skills, with the ability to manage documentation effectively Confident communicator with a proactive mindset and the ability to take initiative The Benefits Competitive Salary company mobile phone Access to company vehicle during work hours Support from current team of workplace health & safety coordinators across the G.James group Opportunity to build the future growth within G.James Group Free on-site parking Health insurance benefits - 7% discount with BUPA Access to Employee Assistant Program - TELUS Health To Apply If you believe you possess the above-mentioned skills and attributes, please send your resume and cover letter detailing your experience and suitability.
