Bairnsdale Engineering is seeking a skilled CAD Draftsperson to join our team and support the design and fabrication of rural and industrial buildings. This is a full-time, on-site role located at our Bairnsdale factory, with some flexibility in work hours available for the right candidate. Position Overview As a CAD Draftsperson, you will be responsible for preparing 3D structural steel shop drawings from engineering and/or architectural drawings. You’ll play a vital role in translating design intent into production-ready documentation, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail at every stage. Key Responsibilities Create 3D structural steel shop drawings using CAD software Interpret engineering and architectural plans for fabrication Liaise with internal teams to ensure designs meet project specifications Produce accurate detailing for farm and industrial steel buildings Support quality control through precise and efficient drafting work Skills & Experience Proficiency with Autodesk Advance Steel and/or Autodesk Revit Experience in 3D CAD drafting for structural steel (preferred) Ability to read and interpret engineering and architectural drawings Experience with other CAD software will also be considered Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work What We Offer Competitive hourly rate: $32 – $40 per hour, based on experience Stable full-time employment with a locally respected business Flexibility with working hours for the right candidate Supportive team environment with a focus on craftsmanship and quality How to Apply All applications MUST be received via the GBS Recruitment website (www.gbsrecruitment.com.au), Job 948606 and include a cover letter outlining your experience.
