As a Senior Technical Business Analyst – Financial Crime, you’ll play a pivotal role in managing and enhancing multiple financial crime applications. You’ll be part of the Business Application Owner (BAO) services team, ensuring systems are fit for purpose, stable, and continuously improving to meet evolving business needs. This role is all about bridging the gap between business, technology, and users—delivering smart, tailored solutions that support regulatory compliance and operational excellence. This is a full-time position based in Sydney, with flexible working arrangements. Some after-hours or weekend support may be required during key releases or implementations. You’ll be part of a collaborative team that values innovation, precision, and purpose—working together to protect our customers and uphold trust. What do I need? To thrive in this role, you’ll bring: Demonstrated hands-on experience across all listed platforms - NetReveal, Detica, World Check (for financial crime detection), Quantexa (for contextual analytics), Appian (for workflow and case management), and Elastic, Synapse, Teradata (as enterprise data platforms) - is essential and expected to effectively support the full lifecycle of BAO operations in Financial Crime. Advanced data analysis skills, including SQL, Teradata, Oracle, and BI tools for reporting and insights. Proven ability to lead business analysis across complex initiatives, with a focus on process optimisation and stakeholder engagement. Solid understanding of regulatory domains including KYC, SMR, TTR, IFTI, Sanctions, AML screening, Customer Risk Assessment, third-party risk, and government-issued compliance notices (e.g., gazette publications, legislative updates, and police liaison protocols). A collaborative mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate technical concepts into clear business outcomes. Experience in release, change, data, risk and control management practices is essential to support BAO service delivery and ensure operational stability. Why join us?
