Position Summary: The National Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving strategic growth across Australia, expanding Saltire’s presence with utility providers, contractors, asset owners, and government authorities. This role blends commercial acumen, strategic sales leadership, and a deep understanding of technical infrastructure solutions to build long-term relationships and secure new workstreams. You will be the face of Saltire in new and existing markets, developing commercial opportunities around our proprietary technologies including under-pressure hot tapping, S-Gate live valve systems, internal pipeline camera inspection tools (e.g., Flowrider), vacuum excavation (“MacroVac”) and welfare fleet solutions. Key Responsibilities : Strategic Market Expansion Lead national growth initiatives across water utilities, councils, contractors, and infrastructure owners. Align business development with Saltire’s 5-year expansion and technology roadmap. Client Relationship Management Build and maintain trusted relationships with key executive and operational stakeholders. Represent Saltire's technologies confidently at appropriate events. Opportunity Management & Tendering Lead the identification and pursuit of high-value tenders and strategic opportunities Collaborate with teams to develop compelling and innovative proposals. Technology Positioning Communicate the benefits of Saltire’s technology versus traditional methods (reduced shutdowns and faster commissioning) Advocate for early contractor involvement (ECI), alliance models, and alternative delivery pathways where Saltire’s capabilities offer superior outcomes. Reporting & CRM Maintain accurate pipeline and bid tracking in CRM systems. Deliver monthly reports on activity and performance to the executive team. Collaboration & Leadership Work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to align messaging and delivery. Provide client feedback and market insights to support product development. Key Selection Criteria Experience 7 to 10 years’ experience in business development, account management, or commercial strategy within infrastructure, civil construction, water utilities, or engineering services. Proven success in securing and managing complex infrastructure contracts, preferably with Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractors or water utilities. Technical knowledge of pipeline infrastructure, trenchless technologies, live asset interventions, or civil services is highly desirable. Skills Strong commercial acumen with a solution-focused sales approach. Confident communicator, skilled at influencing executive and operational stakeholders. Ability to translate technical capabilities into clear business value propositions. Proven expertise in proposal writing, bid strategy, and client presentations.
