The Opportunity We are seeking a Financial Accountant for a 12-month max term opportunity. This role focuses on enhancing the transparency and quality of financial data reported both internally and externally. You will ensure the application of appropriate accounting methods, practices, and procedures, while driving process improvements for greater automation and auditability. Key Responsibilities: Enhance transparency and quality of financial data reporting. Collaborate with internal teams (Financial Operations, Tax, Investments, etc.) and external teams (Custodian, Auditors). Provide month-end/year-end accounting support for timely and accurate financial statements. Ensure accurate accounting for investment balances and fees. Manage month-end close processes, including journal preparation, balance sheet reconciliations, and maintenance of the Fixed Asset register. Support BAU process improvements and project-related changes. Prepare and maintain process documentation. About You: CA or CPA qualification is essential. Experience in finance, preferably with a background in a Big 4 professional services firm. Experience in superannuation, investment accounting, or financial services industry is preferred. Familiarity with APRA reporting is a plus. Strong accounting skills and knowledge of accounting standards. Proficient in Excel with strong spreadsheeting skills. Detail-oriented with the ability to see the big picture. Strong problem-solving and prioritization skills. Excellent analytical and interpretive skills for regulatory requirements. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to influence effectively at all levels. A strong team player.
