Line of Service Internal Firm Services Industry/Sector Not Applicable Specialism Risk Management Level Managing Director Job Description & Summary Permanent Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane - Full Time - Hybrid - Managing Director PwCA’s Group Head of Enterprise & Operational Risk (Group Head of Risk) is responsible for the leadership and oversight of the firm's risk governance, including enterprise-wide risk frameworks, policies and procedures (subject to the exclusions below). This role has the authority to challenge decisions that may affect the firm's risk profile, and lead discussions across the entity on what risk can be accepted and managed. The Group Head of Risk should also encourage and develop processes to support appropriate risk taking. To ensure the Group Head of Risks' dedicated focus to risk matters and their independence, this person cannot have any client responsibilities, meaning no formal responsibilities for any individual clients or a broader capability led responsibility for any groups of clients, no revenue generating targets and client satisfaction targets. Role Summary You will be responsible for the development and maintenance of PwCA’s approach to Risk and its framework, policies and procedures in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. The Group Head of Risk would be reporting into the Chief Risk & Ethics Officer (CREO) and will have approximately 15 FTE in their team. The Group Head of Risk has direct access to the Governing Board and senior management (MLT) in notifying them of any significant breach of, or material deviation from, the risk management framework of the firm and access to all parts of the firm that have the potential to engage in, generate or influence material risk. Key Responsibilities Risk leadership Developing and maintaining the PwCA’s Risk Management Framework and Risk Appetite Statement for approval by the Governance Board and adoption by the MLT Developing and maintaining firmwide frameworks and policies for determining and managing risks in accordance with the PwCA Risk Appetite Statement Leading the development of the firm's approach to risk culture, including identifying desirable characteristics and desirable changes and driving initiatives to address those changes, assessing the progress of those initiatives and reporting and advising to the MLT and Governance Board Risk Committee about the firm's risk culture Risk Framework and Policies Responsibility for the ongoing management of PwCA’s operations by: Advising the CEO, MLT, the Governance Board and its committees on the material risks associated with the firm's strategic objectives Overseeing the response to risk matters of significance Establishing the scope and delivery of the second line risk and controls assurance Assessing and challenging activities and decisions that may materially affect our risk profile. Three Lines of Accountability Model Responsible for the design of the firm's three lines of accountability model, ensuring it is accurately reflected in the firm's Risk Management Framework, responsibility for assessing its adoption and the capacity and capability of the firm's risk resources. Change Program In relation to the delivery of the Program associated with the Switkowski report and Commitments to Change (Commitments Program): Managing the closure of the deliverables allocated to the Group Head of Risk Effectively embedding activities in respect of the Enterprise-Wide risk function Managing the sustainability and effectiveness of practices delivered through the Commitments Program within the Enterprise Risk Management Function Monitoring the sustainability and effectiveness of Risk related practices delivered through the Commitments Program across the firm Providing a firmwide view of material risks and material issues and incidents and emerging risks Reporting, making recommendations, advising on, and escalating as appropriate risk (including the remediation of such matters) of significance Leading the Enterprise Risk Management function consistent with firmwide strategy, frameworks, policies, relevant delegations, the firm's Risk Appetite Statement: Overseeing the implementation of significant programs within the Enterprise-Wide Risk Function Embedding a newly implemented GRC Maintaining the enterprise-wide Risk Function's business continuity and disaster recovery measures Identifying and escalating risk issues and incidents Managing the enterprise-wide risk function's arrangements and interactions with Line 1 risk partners across the broader business Exclusions: Compliance matters Ethics matters Line 1 client risk matters About PwC At PwC, we are a human-led, tech-powered community of solvers.
