About the Role As our Facilities Manager, you will take ownership of the end-to-end facilities management for workspace sites, health club locations, and hospitality venues across The Commons. Based in Melbourne CBD, this role is hands-on and strategic, requiring regular site visits across Melbourne and occasional travel to Sydney. You’ll ensure our physical environments are safe, compliant, and operating at a premium standard—supporting the wellbeing of our members and teams, and aligning with our values of quality, care, and community. What You’ll Be Doing Facilities & Operations Lead day-to-day facilities operations across all The Commons locations—including workspaces, wellness facilities, and hospitality venues Ensure all sites are safe, well-maintained, and meet our high standards for functionality and design Manage maintenance schedules to develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules across all locations Arrange and manage all reactive maintenance works in a timely manner. Monitor contractor performance with respect to both preventative and reactive maintenance. Oversee lease obligations and landlord relationships specifically relating to facilities Maintain clear, accurate documentation across all property assets Workplace, Wellness & Hospitality Environments Develop and support strategies for optimising our workspace experience, from desks to communal lounges Ensure The Commons Health Club locations operate smoothly, with special attention to safety, cleanliness, and member experience in wellness and recovery areas Support hospitality spaces (e.g. cafés, event areas) with facilities needs to ensure seamless service and operational flow Collaborate with teams across Member Experience, Health Club, Operations, Community, and Hospitality to deliver unified and inspiring member environments Review the design of new locations with the lens of facilities and ongoing maintenance requirements. Health, Safety & Compliance Lead OH&S practices across all sites and ensure all facilities meet legal and internal safety requirements Conduct regular risk assessments and champion a proactive safety culture Develop, lead and implement safety systems and OH&S practices across all sites. Support emergency preparedness and business continuity planning Sustainability & ESG Embed environmentally responsible practices across all facilities operations Contribute to The Commons’ B Corp goals through energy efficiency, waste management, and ethical sourcing initiatives About You You live our values—putting members first, fostering community, working collaboratively, and constantly growing.
