ConsultANZ is looking for a Commercial Manager to join a well-established civil infrastructure contractor based in Auckland, New Zealand. Known for delivering technically challenging projects across roads, bridges, and major infrastructure, our client is embarking on a large-scale development and seeks a commercially driven leader to oversee its financial and contractual operations. Key Duties: Shape and implement commercial strategies to support project and business performance. Manage financial aspects including budgets, forecasting, and cost tracking. Lead contract negotiations and manage risk across multiple work packages. Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors. Ensure compliance with legal, contractual, and procurement standards. Oversee claims, variations, and commercial reporting throughout project life cycles. Guide and mentor the commercial team, promoting operational excellence. Provide insight on project financials to support decision-making at the senior level. Drive commercial improvements across delivery teams and business systems. Your Profile: 10 years of experience in civil infrastructure or major construction projects. Tertiary qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field. Demonstrated leadership experience in commercial or contract management roles. Proven success in administering complex contracts and managing subcontractor performance. Strong understanding of New Zealand construction law and procurement frameworks. Experience with ERP systems such as JDE is a distinct advantage. Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills. What’s in it for you?
