Position overview 2.5 year maximum term contract, full time opportunity - (part-time considered) True hybrid working – work from home and our Mitcham office. $107,675.65 - $113,862.32 per annum plus 12% superannuation The Role This role is a unique chance to help shape Yarra Valley Water’s next corporate strategy – a long-term, intergenerational plan to deliver greater impact for our customers, communities and the environment. As Strategy Development Planner, you’ll play a key role in keeping the project organised, on track and well-communicated. You’ll support the team from planning through to delivery, working closely with the Strategy and Sustainability Manager, Divisional Manager of Corporate Strategy, and external consultants. You’ll build on your existing project management skills - while gaining hands-on experience in strategy development. It’s a great opportunity to deepen your capability in strategic thinking, systems thinking, long-term planning and change management. Your key responsibilities Lead project planning, procurement, and support delivery to meet budget, scope, and quality standards. Coordinate and support stakeholder engagement, including communications and workshops. Support strategy development through research, synthesis, engaging with experts and thought leaders, and developing strategy artefacts. Assist with internal communications and storytelling to build staff engagement in the strategy. Support the development of strategic tools, templates and frameworks that bring the strategy to life. What we’re looking for Tertiary qualifications in engineering, science, sustainability, business, policy, social science or another relevant field – highly desirable. Project management training or certification – highly desirable. Strong project coordination and stakeholder engagement skills. Familiarity with project management methodologies & project governance. Excellent communication and synthesis skills, with the ability to translate complex ideas into clear, engaging outputs. An interest in and general understanding of sustainability, systems change and intergenerational equity. Knowledge and understanding of the water industry, policies, and regulatory environment.
