Our Impact - We deliver impact in the areas of social connection, resilience and empowerment. www.ercs.org.au About the Program The Settlement Engagement Transition Services (SETS) Program has been developed to equip and empower humanitarian entrants and other vulnerable migrants with the tools to address their settlement needs and improve social and economic participation and community integration support within their local communities. The Program will assist in building the capacity of small organisations to better support local communities. The program will foster a whole of community approach to achieve settlement and integration outcomes. About the Opportunity The SETS Case Worker will work across programs to help develop wrap-around services and support for individuals who qualify for the SETS program. Newly arrived refugees (arrived in the last 5 years) needing settlement support and community engagement opportunities. This role works within program guidelines to empower individuals to feel safe and secure, healthy and well, have full participation in society, feel connected to culture and community and have equal rights and opportunities. You will work under general direction with resources and assistance available. This will be towards set outcomes with solutions to problems generally found in precedents, if not you may be required to exercise judgement to support individual clients as needed. About You The position would suit someone who has existing connections in the settlement sector in either Inner West or Parramatta areas or Sydney in general. This would be a great opportunity for an experienced case worker or social worker to be involved in a newly developed program and assist in the design and delivery of the key objectives. This position can be based in either Parramatta or Balmain office with a willingness to travel between the two locations occasionally. Areas of work will include Sydney Inner West and Parramatta and surrounds. So some flexibility around location is ideal You will also have: A tertiary qualification in social work or community development OR extensive relevant experience A minimum of 18 months experience in a refugee settlement services environment Demonstrated experience in working with community groups and the ability to work with people from culturally diverse backgrounds Experience in facilitating small group programs The ability to build relationships to establish networks and partnerships within the broader community to support the program This position is part time (0.6/three days a week) for a fixed term until December 2025 the hours and days will be negotiated with the successful candidate. Primary location can be Parramatta or Balmain with the requirement to work in a particular location when the need arises this role will work with Parramatta and Inner West communities. We are a flexible workplace and would be open to discussing work arrangements and a combination of being office based and working from home.
