Why This Role Matters Telstra Health is proud to work collaboratively with the Australian Government and our specialist partners in the delivery of 1800RESPECT from 1 July 2022, as the national front door for people experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, domestic, family and sexual violence (DFSV) and workplace sexual harassment (WSH). As the Clinical Support Specialist for 1800RESPECT, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the frontline support that thousands of Australians rely on every day. Your expertise will empower counsellors, elevate service quality, and ensure that every individual who reaches out receives the compassionate, expert care they deserve. What You’ll Do You’ll provide critical guidance, mentorship, and clinical oversight in the form of clinical supervision and clinical coaching to the team of counsellors to maintain clinical excellence. Lead with Impact: Provide clinical supervision and coaching to a team of counsellors, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Monitor and Enhance Quality: Monitor and uphold clinical excellence through the provision of ongoing quality assurance and clinical auditing. Develop Talent: Design and deliver training and professional development materials that equip counsellors with the skills and knowledge to support individuals impacted by domestic and family violence, sexual assault, and workplace harassment. Collaborate for Change: Work closely with clinical management and stakeholders to identify needs, set objectives, and develop strategies that enhance clinical service provision. What We’re Looking For Essential Criteria: Experience: Minimum 4 years of trauma counselling, preferably in telephone or online settings, with a focus on domestic, family, and sexual violence. Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree from an approved provider and eligibility for registration with a professional body such as PACFA (Clinical), ACA (Level 3 or above), AASW (Full), or AHPRA (General Registration as a Psychologist). Attributes: Ability to work calmly under pressure, support staff effectively, and maintain self-care practices. Compliance: Understanding of federal and state-based legislation, including child protection laws relevant to service delivery. Skills: Strong computer proficiency, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Teams and internet applications.
