We are looking for an experienced Chef to join the growing kitchen team at 'The Royal Oak' in Balmain, Sydney. The Royal Oak is one of Balmain's oldest and best-known pubs who loves its food as much as sport and simply having a great time. A popular destination for locals, foodies, weekend long lunches and functions for 20-140 guests, the Royal Oak Balmain is More Than a Pub! Applicants must have strong experience in busy kitchens, be capable with fast paced, high volume service, take pride in food presentation and be effective in a busy team environment. Key Requirements are: Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situation Manage and train kitchen staff, establish working schedule and assess staff’s performance Order supplies to stock inventory appropriately Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers Hard working and organized, team player with positive attitude Ability to manage your own sections and deliver a consistently high standard of food throughout service Take pride in food presentation, always ensuring top quality Good communication skills (verbal and written) Food Hygiene compliance, knowledge and practices Availability for rotating roster across Mon to Sun. Job will require approx. 38 hrs per week.
