We’re partnering with a dynamic, high-growth financial services business in Newcastle who are shaking up the world of consumer lending. They’re looking for a confident and empathetic Collections Officer to join their secured lending team. This is a contract position initially with a view to go permanent after 3-months. This role offers training, career development, and the chance to build a long-term career in a regulated and fast-paced industry. What You’ll Be Doing This isn’t your typical call centre role. You’ll work across the full collections lifecycle with a balance of phone-based support and administrative account management. Your focus will be helping customers stay on track with their car loan repayments by: Making outbound calls to existing customers (no cold calling) Setting up or renegotiating sustainable and realistic payment plans Documenting all interactions and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards Collaborating with internal teams including hardship, legal and underwriting About You You don’t need a finance background – full training is provided – but we’re looking for someone who’s: Confident on the phone Comfortable working in a regulated environment where detail and documentation really matter Strong on admin and time management – you’ll be tracking multiple customer journeys Empathetic, solutions-focused and proactive Ideally experienced in customer service, retail, collections or call centre work An Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident What’s In It for You Salary: $63,000 Super up to 10% performance bonus Full training provided with supportive leadership Career progression in a growing fintech business Office-based role in Newcastle CBD No weekend work, great team culture, and quarterly bonus structure Access to future permanent opportunities, new projects and cross-functional teams Sound like your kind of role?
