About the role Providing expert clinical advice and consultancy to patients, carers and other health care professionals within the Alcohol and Drug Service. Part of the Hospital Drug and Alcohol Consultation Liaison (HDA-CL) team; providing care for the Psychiatric Alcohol and Non-Prescription Drug Assessment (PANDA) Unit; Emergency Department and the hospital more widely as part of a general consultation liaison. P roviding expert clinical telephone advice to health care professionals statewide who are contacting the Drug and Alcohol Specialist Advisory Service (DASAS). Identifying deteriorating patients, providing appropriate care and escalating appropriately. Initiate, develop and implement initiatives and projects which improve quality of service provided. Conduct training of staff in clinical topics relevant to the model of care. About you Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency. 5 years (minimum) full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience in the specialty field. Approved postgraduate qualifications relevant to the field in which he/she/they are appointed or such other qualifications/experience deemed appropriate by St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney. Demonstrated evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, critical thinking and analysis in their daily practice as a registered nurse. Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads within a complex environment. Why work at St Vincent’s?
