What we are looking for: We're currently seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as our Coordinator Coastal Management. In this vital role, you will be at the forefront of planning and executing projects related to Coastal and Catchment Management, focusing on Stormwater Quality and Coastal Management. What your day will look like: Manage the provision and maintenance for Council's coastal assets, including catchment discharges, together with associated planning Liaising with external agencies, offering expert guidance on stormwater quality and coastal infrastructure to both internal and external stakeholders. Spearheading the coordination of policies, secure funding agreements, and ensure compliance with pertinent permits and regulations. Please click here for a full Position Description To excel in this position, you should possess proven experience in coastal management and stormwater planning, coupled with a solid grasp of construction practices and environmental considerations. Effective communication skills, collaborative teamwork, and a proactive approach to decision-making are all essential attributes. What you should have to apply: Tertiary qualification (AQF level 7 or above) or advanced studies in a relevant engineering discipline. Demonstrated experience in coastal management and stormwater quality planning, project consultation, policy development and project delivery. Knowledge of construction practices and procedures, preferably in areas relating to coastal management and stormwater quality infrastructure. Sound understanding and knowledge of environmental and cultural heritage issues preferably associated with the provision, maintenance, and operation of coastal infrastructure. Demonstrated ability to prepare contract documentation and supervise projects. Experience in managing technical people, and consultants. High level of communication skills including both interpersonal skills and written communication skills. Current driver's licence What's nice to have: Local Government experience in coastal management, water quality, civil engineering, or equivalent. Eligibility for membership to the Institute of Engineers Australia.
