We are currently seeking a Laundry Supervisor to join our professional and dynamic housekeeping team at the luxurious Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort Port Douglas. About the Role As our Laundry Supervisor, you’ll play a vital role in the seamless operation of the laundry and valet services, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, fabric care, safety, and guest satisfaction. You’ll lead by example, supervise daily laundry operations, and support your team in creating exceptional guest experiences through pristine linen and garment care. Key Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day laundry operations across afternoon shifts Maintain productivity and quality standards in all laundry and valet areas Support and lead team members in meeting daily goals and KPIs Ensure compliance with safety and hygiene regulations (WHS, Food Safety) Train and supervise laundry staff and assist with rostering and performance Conduct daily briefings, toolbox meetings, and ensure effective handovers Manage inventory and ordering of chemicals and linen supplies Assist with machinery checks, safe operation, and maintenance reporting Provide exceptional internal customer service to other hotel departments Step up as acting manager when required, including attending briefings and reporting on departmental operations What We’re Looking For Proven experience in a similar supervisory role within a laundry or housekeeping environment Strong communication and leadership skills Knowledge of fabric care and laundry procedures High attention to detail and commitment to safety and hygiene standards Sound computer skills and ability to maintain logs and records Physically fit to manage manual handling and mobility across the department Flexible availability to support varying shifts, including weekends and public holidays First Aid Certificate preferred What We Offer Be part of a world-renowned hospitality brand – Marriott International A supportive and inclusive team environment Opportunities for career progression and ongoing professional development Competitive remuneration and benefits Discounts on accommodation, dining, and services worldwide PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
