About the office This role sits within the Associate Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic & Registrar portfolio which includes Student Life, Student Success and Wellbeing, Libraries, Student Administration. About the role This position supports the Manager, Student Life, and works alongside staff and student representatives to deliver smooth and effective administrative support. Key Responsibilities Be the main contact for student clubs, societies, and university staff across Australia, offering advice on student events, involvement, and rules. Support the Fremantle Student Affairs Committee by organising meetings, and preparing agendas, documents, and minutes. Help students and staff by answering questions and providing general support for Student Life activities. Give advice and make decisions to support student-run events, ensuring they follow university rules and goals. Escalate issues when needed. Plan and run events and activities that get more students involved on campus. Help grow student clubs and the Student Association. Assist with reports, writing tasks, promotional materials, and other admin duties as needed. Help manage and update university policies, forms, and documents, and assist with special projects Guide student groups to meet university goals and help them with paperwork and admin tasks. Build and keep good relationships with student leaders. Create useful resources (like web pages or documents) to explain how student events and representation work. Run Student Association elections and act as the Returning Officer, giving fair and clear advice based on student rules and making good decisions. Qualifications, skills & experience Supportive of the Objects of Notre Dame as a Catholic University . Completion of a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education Ability to work effec tiv ely within a team and under general direct ion to effec tively achieve objec tiv es . Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build successful rela ti onships to acquire knowledge of the work area and an understanding of how they interact with other areas and processes . Demonstrated ability to undertake administration duties and provide quality customer service in response to enquiries . Excellent time management and organisa tional skills with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priori ties , meet deadlines and manage mul tip le tasks . Strong computer skills, including email, internet use, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), with the ability to quickly learn new systems and software.
