About the Role The Operations and Maintenance Technician is responsible for the safe, efficient operation and maintenance of a three-unit OCGT power station and associated Balance of Plant (BOP) equipment—including LV/HV electrical systems, gas fuel systems, and cooling water systems. This role involves both local and remote operations and forms part of a 24/7 on-call roster (one week in every four). Key Responsibilities Safety & Compliance Ensure all work meets safety and quality standards. Apply Permit to Work systems, Lock Out Tag Out procedures, and manage Risk Assessments and SWMS. Participate in site-wide safety meetings and inspections. Operation Operate and monitor Gas Turbine Generators and associated systems. Perform daily inspections, logging, and operational reporting. Conduct HV switching and isolation procedures. Maintenance Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance using the CMMS system. Inspect, calibrate, and service mechanical and electrical equipment, including turbines and generators. Support reliability and availability improvements as directed by the Site Manager. Essential Skills & Qualification Mechanical trade qualification (certified) Minimum 5 years’ experience in power generation or heavy industry Hands-on experience with gas turbines and BOP equipment Proficiency in SCADA and CMMS operations Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and P&IDs Intermediate Microsoft Office skills Understanding of mechanical systems and safe work practices Valid C Class Driver’s Licence Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screening Desirable Qualifications Extensive gas turbine and generator operations experience HV switching qualification Post-trade diploma in mechanical or related field Familiarity with DCS, SCADA, HMI systems Type-B Industrial Gas Fitter licence Training in Hydraulics and Pneumatics First Aid, CPR & LV Rescue certifications Working at Heights and Confined Space Accreditation High Risk Work Licence What We Offer Permanent role with long-term career development Work with a global energy leader committed to sustainability Competitive salary bonuses Apply Now Please note: Only applicants with full Australian working rights will be considered for this role.
