The role Reporting into the Head of Innovation, the Customer Discovery Lead role is a newly created role within the Innovation team. You will support the early-stage innovation pipeline and will succeed in doing so by ensuring rigorous exploration of the right business problems, identification of opportunity spaces and customer insights. As the face and front end of the innovation process, you will drive discovery efforts by using a variety of methodologies and ideation practices to shape and validate any problem statements. Working collaboratively with cross-functional business units and the wider Innovation team, you will implement structured processes to support the harvesting of a steady pipeline of transformative ideas and ensure the best ideas are advanced to further stages of development. About you An experienced Innovation professional with a minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar capacity, you may possess a broad range of skills sets across design research, customer strategy, product design and intrapreneurship whether in in-house or consulting roles, ideally in a Financial Services or FinTech context. You are comfortable working an ambiguity and at pace, to continuously iterate and drive a continuous discovery mindset based on customer feedback, insights and user-data. You can speak to your knowledge and experience in leading discovery, ideation and creative processes, with a track record of applying Systems Thinking and turning abstract ideas into tangible opportunities to deliver commercial outcomes. Lastly, your outstanding communication skills (both written and verbal) coupled with your ability to engage and interact, will enable you to facilitate conversations, workshops and presentations to a variety of stakeholders across all seniority levels.
