Sunshine Coast Health have an exciting opportunity for a Fellow - Cardiac Imaging to join our health service in 2026. Our cardiac imaging department performs approximately 8000 transthoracic, 1000 stress echo and 400 trans-oesophageal studies annually. In addition, the hospital provides cardiac MRI and CT coronary angiography services, with the cardiology department co-reporting with radiology approximately 400 studies annually. There is also an active research program in non-invasive cardiac imaging with opportunities to participate in research. Our state-of-the-art echocardiography laboratory performs transthoracic echocardiography (TTE), exercise and dobutamine stress echocardiography (ESE/DSE) and transoesophageal echocardiography (TOE) in hospital inpatients and outpatients routinely utilising techniques such as contrast echocardiography, 3D echocardiography and myocardial deformation assessment. This role will largely focus on participation in the performance and interpretation of all aspects of echocardiography. The successful applicant may also be involved in the cardiac MRI programme, developing skills in acquisition of imaging, post-processing and interpretation of cardiac MRI studies. There will be opportunities for teaching of medical and technical staff. Successful applicants will be able to participate in clinical research projects. Supervision and reporting of exercise and dobutamine stress echocardiography. Performance and reporting of transoesophageal echocardiography, including 3-D analytics and procedural studies. Performance and interpretation of cardiac MRI studies. Participate in regular weekly outpatient cardiology clinic and contribute to the weekend and after hours on call cardiology roster. Salary rates: $4,966.90 - $6,980.10 p.f., employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading (17.5%) (L4 - L13) temporary full-time position, 76 hrs p.f. commencing February 2026 for up to 12 months.
