About the Position We are seeking an experienced WHSE Operations Manager who is looking for a new challenge to help our business deliver strategic objectives related to safety. This is a permanent full-time position, reporting to the General Manager of WHSE which will assist with the mitigation of safety risks and hazards, prevention of workplace incidents and work to improve regulatory compliance and the promotion of a safe culture at all levels across our business. The WHSE Operations Manager will manage the WHSE Operational Business Partners by ensuring that the combined WHSE operational team meet their obligations in rolling out the Pentarch WHSE strategy and plan. This position is based at our Herons Creek site, near Port Macquarie but will cover all of our sites across the country. Note this role requires travel to our regional sites (approx. 1-2 trip per month). However, a fully maintained company car is provided to assist with these travel requirements. Key responsibilities include but not limited to: Providing professional advice, coaching, and development to WHSE Business Partners, Managers and Supervisors to develop their WHSE knowledge and capabilities. Undertaking site inspections and audits of Pentarch’s safety management system in line with company policy and legislative standards. Being responsible for incident investigation management, including leading the Incident Review Forum and the quality of corrective action closure and review. Undertaking and advising on standard Incident Cause Analysis Method (ICAM) investigations. Monitoring, tracking, and reporting on the close out of safety activity planner initiatives and corrective actions identified from risk assessments, investigations, inspections, and audits of evidenced item completion. Providing professional advice regarding improvements or changes that may be required to Pentarch’s WHSE management system or WHSE compliance. Identifying and developing training programs to close training and knowledge gaps in the workforce. The successful applicants will have: Extensive experience in safety role within a high-risk business (essential). A proven track record of leading high level safety inspections, audits and compliance monitoring. Minimum Diploma in Work Health and Safety or a relevant tertiary qualification in a related field is required. ICAM Lead Investigator and Internal Auditor certifications are essential. A demonstrated ability to lead and engage a team as well as, influence and encourage positive behaviors. A background of successfully conducting training sessions for a diverse range of stakeholders to effectively educate employees on WHSE best practice.
