About the Role: We are currently seeking an experienced and hands-on Financial Officer for our clients team in Marrickville. This role will suit a proactive accounting professional with a strong background in compliance, reporting, and operational finance. Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will be responsible for the full range of financial duties, including tax obligations, reporting, reconciliations, and support for international transactions.This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys both strategic oversight and involvement in day-to-day financial operations. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and lodge monthly and annual compliance reports: Payroll Tax Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) Workers Compensation Taxable Payments Annual Report (TPAR) Complete and submit Business Activity Statements (BAS) Reconcile all accounts and ensure the accuracy of financial records Prepare year-end financial documentation and supporting schedules for the income tax return Manage payments to overseas suppliers Liaise with freight forwarders and customs agents regarding imported goods Provide oversight and support across payroll, invoicing, accounts receivable/payable functions Skills & Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior accounting or financial officer's role within the industry In-depth knowledge of Australian tax and compliance requirements (BAS, FBT, payroll tax) Proven ability to manage full-function finance, including reconciliations and reporting Strong understanding of international payments and import/export financial processes Proficiency in accounting systems such as MYOB, Xero, or similar Confident communicator with the ability to work collaboratively across departments What's on Offer: Salary of $80,000 - $100,000 superannuation Annual leave loading - great location in Marrickville A long-term, stable position with a values-driven organisation Opportunity to work across diverse financial functions in a close-knit, supportive team A rewarding role with scope for involvement in both strategic and operational finance About the company: Our client is a proudly Australian, family-owned business with over a century of expertise in the lift and engineering industry.
