Volunteer Opportunity – Be a Friend to a Catholic Brother Do you have 30 minutes to an hour to spare each week or fortnight? We are looking for caring and compassionate volunteers to visit one of our Catholic Brothers for a friendly chat, read together, play a board game, or simply watch the news. Your time could make a big difference in someone’s day. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated. The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme is funded by the Australian Government and is established to promote links between elderly people and their local community. HammondCare HammondCare is an independent Christian charity and we're passionate about improving the quality of life for people in need. We have a wonderful group of volunteers that partner with us to enhance the lives of elderly people. HammondCare is an approved provider of the Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme (ACVVS), funded by the Australian Government. Requirements 18 years or older • National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare • Evidence of COVID-19 vaccination will be required (Two doses) • Flu vaccination • Working with children's check Ideally you'll be available one hour per week/fortnight for 6 months or longer. We'd be happy to chat with you about a suitable day and time during the week between 9am and 5pm.
