Tandoori Zaika , a well-established and growing restaurant located in the heart of Glen Huntly, is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. We are looking for someone who brings passion to the plate, values quality and consistency, and can contribute to delivering an outstanding dining experience to our guests. Position Overview – Chef Key Duties & Responsibilities: Prepare and cook a wide range of entrees, mains, side dishes, and specialty meals as per the restaurant’s menu and customer preferences. Develop new menu ideas and contribute to seasonal updates with creative and appealing dishes. Maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene, and presentation at all times. Manage kitchen operations efficiently, including planning and coordinating food preparation and service during peak periods. Train, supervise, and support junior kitchen staff and kitchen hands. Monitor food stock, place supply orders, and minimise food wastage by applying proper stock rotation and portion control. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workstations in compliance with health and safety regulations. Requirements: Minimum 2–3 years of professional experience working as a Chef in a commercial kitchen. Strong culinary skills with attention to detail and plating aesthetics. Ability to manage pressure and handle multiple tasks during busy service periods. Sound knowledge of kitchen hygiene standards and food safety practices (HACCP). Ability to lead a team and communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff. Trade qualifications in Commercial Cookery (Certificate III/IV or equivalent) preferred.
