Wingecarribee Shire Council is seeking a driven and collaborative Coordinator Strategy and Business Improvement to lead our Integrated Planning and Reporting (IP&R) Framework and champion performance and service excellence across the organisation. This role isn't about sitting behind a desk writing plans, it's about working across every corner of Council to embed continuous improvement, bring clarity to complex systems, and ensure our strategic ambitions translate into measurable results for our community. The Opportunity As Coordinator, Strategy and Business Improvement, you'll report to the Manager, Governance & Corporate Performance to: Lead the coordination and evolution of our IP&R Framework - from strategic planning through to delivery and evaluation. Embed systems thinking, performance measurement, and business improvement across teams, branches and directorates. Drive service reviews and process improvements that deliver value-for-money and better community outcomes. Work closely with the Executive, Finance, Assets and People & Culture teams to align planning, resourcing and reporting. Manage a small high-performing team and influence the way strategy is lived across the organisation. Represent Council in IP&R networks across NSW and within the Canberra Region Joint Organisation. What you need to succeed (Essential Criteria): Degree qualification or tertiary qualification in a business, public administration, strategic planning, finance or a related field. Demonstrated leadership experience in coordinating teams, programs or cross-functional projects, with the ability to motivate others, build capability, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Extensive experience in applying business improvement methodologies (e.g. systems thinking, Lean, service review), with a proven ability to coordinate reviews and implement improvements that deliver measurable value. In-depth knowledge of the NSW Integrated Planning and Reporting (IP&R) Framework, including experience in preparing Community Strategic Plans, Delivery Programs, Operational Plans, and performance reporting. Proven ability to prepare complex reports, strategic documents and project plans, ensuring clarity, alignment, and compliance with statutory and organisational requirements. Strong project and time management skills, with demonstrated ability to deliver outcomes on time and within scope in a dynamic and multi-stakeholder environment. High-level interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to engage, influence and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, both internally and externally. Demonstrated ability to apply critical and systems thinking to support strategic decision-making, identify innovative solutions, and contribute to performance and service improvement across the organisation.
