About the role Essential Energy are now accepting applications for the position of Operations Technical Officer based from Moruya. The role of Operations Technical Officer will be to utilise wider conceptual trade knowledge and skills to address both routine and non-routine enquiries and requests from customers and stakeholders applicable to the Energy Distribution and Transmission environment and other assets managed by Essential Energy. The role involves providing technical advice and support, managing network access, conducting evaluations, and performing tasks related to investigating and reporting on both internal and external stakeholder-initiated requests. This includes collaborating with the local depot leadership team to ensure daily operations align with the preplanned work schedule and overarching business needs. Some key accountabilities of the role will include: Act as a key point of contact for general technical enquiries relating to electrical assets, installations, tariffs, locations, electrical and construction safety, power quality, and access to the electrical network. Provide construction safety advice to the building industry, councils, Accredited Service Providers (ASPs), electrical contractors and any other organisations or individuals working on or near the overhead and underground electricity network. Take responsibility for the identification and safe use of policies and procedure associated with technical requests and action for network access or work near electrical assets. Carry out technical procedures and instructions on assets and installations to address customer and stakeholder work requests. About you Our ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the energy Transmission and Distribution environment and will be responsible for a variety of tasks including selecting, testing, fault finding, repairing and maintenance of electrical infrastructure. This role requires a proactive individual who is proficient in the use of computers and mobile devices. Strong time management skills, problem solving, attention to detail and the ability to build rapport will be critical to this position. Required Qualifications Certificate IV in ESI Network Systems or demonstrated capability through past employment experience and/or relevant qualifications. Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician (plus Qualified Supervisors Certificate) OR Certificate III in ESI Power systems, Distribution Overhead. Drivers Licence. Workcover NSW Construction Induction Card. Overhead/Underground Switching Authorisation. Zone Sub Station Entry Authorisation. Attainment and ongoing successful maintenance of all regulatory, industry and business required licences, authorisations and other such certificates deemed necessary for the role.
