GenesisCare is currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Employee & Industrial Relations Manager to join our Senior Leadership Team. In this pivotal role, you will lead and manage all aspects of Employee Relations, Industrial Relations, and employment compliance across our Australia business. The primary focus of this role is to set and execute the national strategic direction of workplace relations. You will manage current and future enterprise bargaining processes end to end and provide expert guidance on the full spectrum of Australian employment law and workplace policy, to support informed business decisions and strategy development. Reporting to the Chief People Officer and as a key member of our People & Culture team, you will build strong working relationships and deliver strategic advice on a wide range of complex workplace relations matters within a fast-paced, high-demand environment. This is a full-time position based in Sydney, with a hybrid work arrangement between our Alexandria head office and remote work from home. More specifically, you will: Develop and implement the workplace relations vision, strategy and plans aligned to current and future organisational objectives. Provide operational and strategic advice and support across all aspects of employment and industrial relations, ensuring recommendations, actions and solutions are lawful and effectively balance risk and commercial considerations to drive appropriate business outcomes. Provide leadership as subject matter expect and thought leader within the Division and people leadership to direct report/s within employee and industrial relations. Lead the management of specific employee and industrial relations projects, programs and initiatives. Manage the current and prospective suite of enterprise agreements, including the end-to-end bargaining process from initiation of bargaining up to and including Fair Work Commission approval. Develop and implement plans to deal with and respond to emerging issues with enterprise bargaining, including but not limited to industrial action, bargaining disputes and orders, good faith bargaining requirements, and union right of entry. Oversee and support the implementation of enterprise agreements, including change management of key terms and conditions of employment. Negotiate and manage relationships with employee bargaining representatives, including trade unions, in alignment with the organisation’s values and objectives. Ensure correct interpretation and application of relevant industrial instruments across our diverse workforce, including preparation and management of executive and doctor contracts, and administration of terms and conditions of employment applying under enterprise agreements and modern awards. Act as the escalation point for complex case management, including responsibility as the principal advisor to executive and senior leadership for escalated people matters We are interested in candidates with: Proven experience (8-12 years) in dedicated workplace relations roles, working in highly regulated and unionised organisations/industries. Significant experience working within multi-discipline environments and complex industrial instrument frameworks, comprising multiple enterprise agreements, modern awards and contract management arrangements. Current and up-to-date knowledge of Australian employment legislation and regulatory requirements and ability to work across full breadth of workplace relations matters and cases. Capability to lead enterprise bargaining end-to-end, including strong relationship-building, influence and negotiation skills as well as proficiency in change management and navigating challenging stakeholder dynamics. Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Employment/Industrial Relations, Law (or a related field). Ability to manage multiple, complex pieces of work in a fast-paced and high-capacity environment.
