The key duties of the position include The Role The Defence Intelligence Organisation seeks a highly motivated, success driven individual to join the Special Projects team as the Assistant Director [EL1] Special Projects - Logistics. The position works directly to the Director Special Projects [based in Canberra] and is responsible for the effective management of a DIO facility in support of the Special Projects program of work and maintenance of key relationships in SA. The candidate will be required to plan, lead, manage and report on a range of facility, security, logistics and resource management responsibilities to meet the overall outcomes of the program, ensuring compliance with Department of Defence and South Australian legislation. The facility contains a range of industrial capabilities that requires safe and effective management by utilising on-site subject matter experts employing advanced technologies and industry best practice. The role will require the candidate to effectively manage human and physical resources at the facility, providing administrative, business and project support services, and work directly with our other business units to develop and maintain safe and secure support to the program. About our Team The Special Projects directorate sits as part of the Defence Intelligence Organisation's Weapons and Technical Intelligence Branch, which provides all-source intelligence assessments on threat weapons and military systems. Special Projects coordinates the delivery of impactful technical intelligence through a wide range of projects. Special Projects directorate is a multidisciplinary program office team comprised of APS and Australian Defence Force (ADF) members who support the safe and secure planning, delivery and enablers associated with our technical intelligence projects.
