Full time, 6 month fixed term or secondment position, located at the Faculty of Engineering on the Camperdown Campus Exciting opportunity to work as an Education Designer in a collective and supportive team in the School of Engineering Base Salary, HEO7 $112,628 - $122,702 p.a. 17% superannuation About the opportunity The Faculty of Engineering is looking for an experienced Educational Designer to support key initiatives aimed at enhancing the student experience. This role will focus on implementing actions from the unit review process, assisting educators with course improvements, and transitioning unit materials to a new Canvas template. The Educational Designer will also help integrate the University's Student Relationship Engagement System (SRES) and develop assessment strategies that respond to AI advancements. Successful candidate should possess strong negotiation and relationship-building skills, a deep understanding of learning pedagogies, and the ability to provide well-guided advice. They will develop and implement educational resources, tools, and materials while driving innovative solutions to improve teaching and curriculum outcomes. Working under broad supervision, the Educational Designer will independently manage tasks, advise educators as a subject matter experts, and collaborate on complex matters to ensure effective implementation of faculty-wide initiatives. Your key responsibilities will be to: design and implement educational resources and courses aligned with strategic goals develop and maintain eLearning sites using best practices for teaching needs provide advice and support on educational and multimedia technologies assist with assessment design and data analysis to enhance academic outcomes conduct research to identify new tools and techniques for educational technology build strong relationships with stakeholders to improve education design support additional projects and tasks as required. As such, we see the importance of recruiting talent aligned to these values and are looking for Educational Designer who have: a bachelor's degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of training and experience extensive knowledge of policies, procedures, and administrative processes within a tertiary education environment strong technical skills and experience using learning management systems, including Canvas and the Student Relationship Engagement System proven experience in learning design and curriculum development across a range of program delivery modes ability to administer learning activities and provide online access to teaching materials using university LMS experience managing timetabling, rostering, and student engagement systems within a tertiary institution.
