Description About You You will reside in the Tully, Innisfail, Tablelands or Lakeland regions and be familiar with the local area, as you will travel to see workers and Host employers throughout the area and surrounds You will have excellent communication skills, and a passion for getting the best out of relationships, through a person-centred approach to your work You will have a genuine desire to help others, along with patience and cultural sensitivity to assist in ensuring you build effective connections with our workers You will hold a valid driver’s licence so that you can provide on the ground support to workers. Skills And Experiences About the Role This is a pivotal role to provide support to our workers who will be working in the horticultural industry in the Far North Queensland area. You will be the workers key point of contact and will provide care and support to ensure they assimilate into their local environment, the workplace, and to build skills required for independent living in a new country. Each day will be different, but your core responsibilities will include: Addressing worker enquiries which will be varied, and assisting workers to build skills to resolve their concerns independently; Building trust and strong relationships with worker to ensure any matters of concern are understood and addressed; Assisting workers with access to services required (eg; medical); Acting as a communication conduit between workers, our client (the host employer) and MADEC; and Identifying any risks to worker wellbeing and escalate as required. This position is also not your typical 9am to 5pm role as you will be required to be flexible with your working hours and available for out of hours work, including weekends. We, in turn, can offer flexibility with your working arrangements so that it works both ways!
