St Marks in Wheller Gardens Aged Care Community located at Chermside is seeking a volunteer to assist the Allied Health representative on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:00am - 10:30am during group exercise sessions. The Wellbeing Assistant Volunteer can assist residents by: Accompanying residents to and from the group activity and assisting residents as required during the activity program. Assisting with setting up and packing up of the group activity. Sanitise exercise equipment following each session. Assisting with the group exercise task for the day. Providing companionship and a sense of belonging. Communicating resident feedback to staff to assist in improving both the activity and enhancing resident enjoyment. This volunteering role is suitable for people who are physically fit, have well developed interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills and display a calm and empathetic manner when engaging with residents. Volunteering is a wonderful way to make a difference in the lives of our senior residents while making friends, having fun and learning new skills. Volunteering hours at St Marks currently available for this role are Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:00am - 10:30am.
