About the Role As a Disability Support Worker , you will: ✅ Provide hands-on support with daily living activities, personal care, and community access. ✅ Assist individuals with mental health needs and behavioral challenges in a respectful and supportive way. ✅ Encourage independence and help participants achieve personal goals. ✅ Use de-escalation techniques to support individuals during challenging moments. ✅ Work closely with family members & the Oyster Care team to provide the best care possible Who We’re Looking For We’re looking for caring, reliable, and proactive individuals with: ✔ Experience in disability support, mental health, or aged care (preferred but not required). ✔ An empathetic, person-centered approach – treat participants like family ❤️ ✔ Strong communication & documentation skills (e.g., data recording, forms). ✔ Familiarity with de-escalation techniques for managing behaviors. ✔ A background in Support Work, Nursing, or related fields (preferred). ✔ A willingness to learn & grow in a rewarding career. What You’ll Need A reliable, insured vehicle (for participant transport – travel reimbursements available!) Willingness to travel around Sydney Comfortable providing personal care & community access for both male and female participants. Certificate III or IV in a relevant field (highly valued but not required).
