About the opportunity Westgold Resources is seeking an Underground Geology Superintendent to lead our geology team at our Southern Goldfields operations. This permanent role operates on a 4 days on, 3 days off roster and plays a key role in shaping the future of the site's geological success. This is more than a technical role - it's a chance to lead people, influence operational decisions, and drive continuous improvement across geological functions. You'll be responsible for maintaining geological excellence across grade control, reconciliation, resource development, and compliance - all while fostering a strong safety and team culture. The role includes Lead all underground mine geology functions and ensure daily ore mining, geological reconciliation, and grade control standards are maintained to high quality. Deliver and maintain the underground diamond drilling schedule, aligned with planning and modelling timelines. Provide geological input into Life of Mine planning in collaboration with Technical Services and Corporate teams. Drive improvements in dilution control and ore recovery to optimise site commercial outcomes. Mentor and lead a team of geologists and technicians, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Assist with geological budgeting, cost tracking and contractor management to support financial and operational efficiency. Support training pathways, technical development, and capability uplift across the site geology team. What do I need? 8 years' mining experience (5 years' experience in gold mining) and at least 3 years in a senior geology leadership role. Strong technical foundation in underground grade control, modelling, geological reconciliation and resource estimation. Demonstrated leadership and team development skills, with a track record of achieving business improvements through people. Excellent communication and decision-making abilities across operational and technical teams.
