APEX Geoscience is an international consulting company with offices in Perth, Australia and Vancouver and Edmonton, Canada. We provide professional geological services for clients around the world working on most commodities in politically stable jurisdictions. Our international team currently comprises more than 100 geologists, geophysicists and geotechnologists ranging from 0-30 years of mineral exploration experience. Our services include project management (grassroots to feasibility), property assessment, resource estimates, project generation, prospecting and various media sampling, mapping, desktop and GIS studies, ground geophysical surveying and processing, airborne geophysics processing and interpretation, and report writing including JORC and NI 43-101 compliance. APEX is currently seeking expressions of interest for a number highly motivated field assistants for field-based mineral exploration projects FIFO/DIDO of Perth. This exciting opportunity with a consulting company will allow the successful candidates to experience a wide range of projects and locations expanding their career. Even if you do not have experience, you are still encouraged to apply, as all on the job training will be provided. The role will be on a contract basis with ongoing work depending on the client’s requirements. The applicant must have an appreciation of the outdoors and enjoy being in remote environments. The anticipated role may have variable rosters (e.g., 2 and 1, 2 and 2, or 3 weeks on and 10 days off). Accommodation will vary from donga style accommodation to remote camps and traveling to nearby worksites daily. Anticipated duties will include: Diamond core geoteching & core cutting RC, RAB, AC sampling Very remote exploration activities Soil/Rock chip sampling Camp management Basic mechanical repairs General site duties 12 hour work day on variable rosters (e.g., 2 weeks on: 1 week off; 2 weeks on: 2 weeks off; 3 weeks on: 10 days off). The successful candidates will have: Residency or similar status to work in Australia (based in Perth). Have a current West Australian manual C class licence. Be able to pass a pre-employment Police clearance, medical and drug and alcohol screen. Solid understanding of vehicle maintenance is a benefit. Ability and willingness to work in remote settings and hot temperatures. Strong communication and personal skills. Valid first aid certificate. Experience with side by sides or ATV’s would be looked at favourably. RC drilling, diamond core and soil sampling experience considered an asset. The remuneration package will be commensurate with experience and the current market.
