You will be part of a dedicated Pastoral Care team, providing clients with choice, and establishing relationships of trust to ensure the availability of communication and spiritual support with compassion and empathy, embracing a holistic approach to healing and wellbeing. Some of your duties will include: Identify residents needing psychological or mental health support and refer to the clinical staff to ensure these needs are met within the respective care plans Support and comfort persons facing major life changes or those who may be experiencing times of anxiety, stress and/or loneliness. Establish relationships of trust to ensure the availability of communication and spiritual support with compassion and empathy, recognising and respecting each resident's religious, cultural, or non-religious worldview Consult with and support resident’s family’s relatives and/or representatives in time of crisis; Providing end of life support, grief and loss support and family support Assist with advance care planning Assess spiritual, religious and emotional needs of each resident, exploring issues of faith, meaning and purpose. Complete Spiritual Assessments and Pastoral Care Plans Provide meaningful rituals, including Mass, non-denominational, ecumenical services/memorial services, prayer and liturgy as well as arrange for provision of Sacraments such as Holy Communion and Anointing What will you bring to the role? Certificate or Diploma from an accredited Pastoral Care Academy. Experience in spiritual and pastoral care Experience working in an aged care environment (Desirable) Maintain confidentiality in reporting where required Maintain documentation accurately and appropriately Strong interpersonal and communication skills Who is Southern Cross Care Queensland?
